Utah Benchmarking Project
In 2006, the Utah Cities Managers Association (UCMA) initiated the idea of a Utah Benchmarking group. This project idea has become a partnership of UCMA, University of Utah, Brigham Young University, Utah State University, and ULCT. A preliminary report was presented at the April UCMA conference, demonstrating the potential that benchmarking municipal conditions and services has for informing senior managers in Utah's cities.

What has been accomplished so far?
In April Utah Benchmarking team presented a first report at the UCMA conference. This pilot report focused the analysis on indicators which describe the managerial environment that city leaders face, both the current situation and recent growth trends. The report also presented descriptive data on some aspects of the financial structure of the participating cities. And concluded with a focus on three common municipal services: police, city streets, and parks & recreation.
